Is that all?
After a break, I am resuming my travel updates….apologies to anyone that might have thought the leaning tower of Piza did lean that little too far and ended this little chicken. I am alive and well.
So, getting back into it, Florence….First stop was the Cathedral (or specifically The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore), must see while you are in the area, great dome, and fantastic views from the top…but as per usual I spent all my time taking photos that I forgot to get in them myself!!
From there I spent some time in the botanical gardens (very pretty), then a visit to David. Now I must admit, I am not a big fan of sculpture, but there really is something special about this piece of work, it’s captivating. I can’t quite think of why, it’s one of those things you just have to see for yourself. It’s quite humbling (and bigger than I thought).
We weren’t allowed to take photos inside, however there is a replica of the statue in the square (Which I can’t remember which one it is)!
